I vividly remember the day I first fell in love with photography. It was my 7th birthday and after I blew out the candles my parents gifted me with a point and-shoot Micky Mouse camera. My way of seeing the world changed and with each snap of that little shutter I began to understand the value of capturing moments that were never to be created again. I still have that little blue camera tucked away amongst my most prized possessions. Years later, my choice in cameras may have changed but my way of seeing the world certainly hasn't.
My style ebbs and flows between the lengths of natural, candid, emotion-filled, and detail-centered. I love people, and music, and places, but mostly I just love discovering what makes my subjects different, human, and memorable and capitalizing on the soul that is bundled into each and every one of them.
I take on work that inspires me and fits my natural light aesthetic. I'm not glamour. I'm not about airbrushing the imperfections away. Despite living in a now-digital world, I choose to shoot film because nothing beats the warmth and beauty of the analog format.
I don't shoot for the sake of a "like" or "re-post." I started photographing before social media existed and digital was merely an idea and not a way of life. It's not what sparks my creativity or drives me to pick up a camera. I'm inspired by the handpicked, intimate, blink-and-you'll-miss-them moments. I take photographs as a return ticket to a moment otherwise gone.
